Last Saturday, Tiffany and I hung out with my brother and sister-in-law at their open house for FreshGround Roasting. We had a blast preparing appetizers, decorating and learning about coffee. One of the things that I loved was how my sister-in-law, Krista, set out the food. We had hearty appetizers, local cheeses, amazing cupcakes from The Sugar Path and fresh fruits and veggies. Krista used vintage and household items to make the spread look as good as it tasted.
The Sugar Path’s cupcakes were set out on a piece of burlap (there’s never a shortage of burlap when you’re a coffee roaster). To add height to the food table, Krista and Tiffany set up the cupcakes on a vintage suitcase.
You can’t go wrong with meats and cheese when you’re entertaining. Krista displayed a spread of amazing cheeses from Curds & Whey Cheese Company on a rustic slate chalkboard (which of course had been cleaned of chalk). It looked and tasted delicious!
Do you have any fun ideas for displaying food at a party?

Those cupcakes look delicious!
They were! I’m loving The Sugar Paths’ cupcake creations!
That entire spread looks so good!
Thanks! We definitely enjoyed eating it!
I love using my slate board for cheese – and writing the names of the cheese on it. Love the cupcakes on the suitcase!

Thanks! We wanted to write the names of the cheese on the board but didn’t have chalk! Haha. Next time I’ve got to make sure to do that, though!
Love the food spread, so simple and looks YUM
Thanks! It was delicious!
